PHILOSOPHY
Thomas "Hawk" Jacquez teaches pitchers how to thrive on the mound by instructing proper biomechanics, functional fitness, nutrition, game strategy, leadership skills, and a champion's mindset. Hawk's philosophy and approach guides pitchers to cultivate inner excellence, execute a personal pitch by pitch game plan, and learn to respect self, opponent, and the game. Hawk reinforces an attitude of excellence for all pitchers who seek to address areas for improvement, long term development, and the opportunity to compete at higher levels.
Prior to introducing and teaching the biomechanics, every athlete receives a head-to-toe Movement Assessment to identify faulty stability patterns and altered mobility. The asessement pinpoints areas for improvement, informs movement efficiency, and addresses arm safety, security, and sustainability. Hawk’s approach for long term development couples the athlete's personally tailored blueprint with ongoing measurable evaluation of pitching mechanics, functional strength and joint integrity.
Hawk specializes in keeping athletes healthy and performing to their potential by designing personally adaptive pitching and functional fitness programs. Program design targets pre-season, off-season, and in-season, as well as athletes rehabilitating from injury or surgery. Pitchers gain invaluable insight how to protect the arm and shoulder from injuries, eliminate shoulder and elbow pain, and increase throwing velocity, and improve accuracy.
In order to get outs, a pitcher’s goal is to throw strikes varying in speed and location so he may disrupt timing and balance of the hitter. While the thrower throws without a plan, the pitcher takes the mound with a precisely calculated game plan.
